Catalyst Forum – The Narrative of Gender Violence in the Time of COVID: Agency & Action

November 30, 2020 - December 4, 2020

The John J. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy joins the Institute for Ethical Leadership and the United Nations Women in co-sponsoring a series of events titled: Catalyst Forum – The Narrative of Gender Violence in the Time of COVID: Agency & Action.  The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, 2020, kicks off 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence where people unite in solidarity around the globe to raise awareness about gender-based violence and call for improved laws and services to end violence against women and girls.  This initiative runs through Human Rights Day on December 10, 2020.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is growing data that shows gender-based violence has increased for women and girls worldwide. Gender-based violence exists on every corner of the earth.  In an effort to engage students, faculty, community members, and policymakers in this important conversation we are facing as a global community, we present the following conversations held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (EST) daily.  Our hope is the series will create perspective and cultivate action for eradicating the pervasive gender-based violence that has accelerated during the global pandemic.

All sessions will be facilitated via Zoom to maximize accessibility.
