Born Jewish, and coming from an abusive home life, Kat experienced more than one trafficking experience, each one leaving her with more wounds, shame, and abuse. Kat was first recruited when she was just 13 years old at a hotel in Miami Beach where she was staying with her family. The trafficking ring was recruiting children to meet the demands of sex tourists; this first experience ended in kidnapping and attempted murder. Kat was a missing teen in Miami when she was recovered after being left for dead on the side of the road.

With so many triumphs over unbeatable obstacles, Dr. Kat is now a much sought-after consultant, author, speaker, and inspirational survivor leader in the areas of human trafficking and domestic violence
