Lerina Bright is Founder and Executive Director of Mission 89, a Geneva-based NGO established in 2017 dedicated to combating human trafficking in, through, and around sport. Through research, education, and advocacy, Mission 89 works to protect vulnerable athletes from exploitation.

Her career in international sport administration includes senior roles at CONCACAF (Head of International Affairs and President’s Office) and the Bahrain Olympic Committee, where she developed key stakeholder relationships and drafted foundational governance documents.

She holds a Master’s degree in Sport Administration and Technology from Switzerland and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Economics from the University of Miami, with additional training in diplomatic protocol from The Protocol School of Washington.

Bright currently serves on the Council of Europe’s Safe Sport Commission and FIFA’s Safeguarding Expert Working Group, and also serves as Chair of the Integrity Commission for the World Baseball Softball Confederation. She holds dual Sierra Leonean and American nationality.
