Kimberly Colon is the Program Coordinator for The John J. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy. She is a professional with a background in government, law, human rights, and higher education. Before her current role, she dedicated herself to public service as she worked for the U.S. House of Representatives for eight years. Her work in Congress as a Congressional Aide impacted the lives of constituents in the local community and fostered relationships with federal agencies.

She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at St. Thomas University, where she teaches courses in Political Science, Law, and International Relations, in addition to mentoring students in leadership and career development. Kimberly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology from St. Thomas University, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intercultural Human Rights at St. Thomas University College of Law, and a Certificate in Human Trafficking Law and Policy.

She has expertise in public service, human rights law, international law, and academia. Kimberly has a proven track of empowering others through mentorship and ethical leadership. She is grateful for the opportunity to be leading in education, training, research and advocacy against human trafficking, and in advancing the mission of The John J. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy.
